‘Syntropy is The Art of Breath’, and I can Coach you towards a better future...

I am really pleased to share with you that I am now a qualified Syntropy Coach. ‘Syntropy is The Art of Breath’.

So what is Syntropy? Syntropy is a simple and effective way for people to boost their health and wellbeing through art, music, breath-work and relaxation.

Because I coach people in breath-work, I can also coach you using the Syntropy app.

Syntropy is so effective because art blends with science. The Breath Pacers and Relaxation videos employ the scientifically proven benefits of breath-work, art and music therapy, meditation, and emotion regulation. Large bodies of current research support this approach.

We currently live in a society that is experiencing a pandemic of stress. Like HeartMath, Syntropy has a vision for a better future and we would like to invite you to join us on this better future.

Using Audio Visual breath pacers is a form of Focussed Attention Meditation (FAM) where attention is place on both an external (the art and music) and internal (the breath) source. Focussed Attention Meditation improves interoception, benefits cognitive performance and attention and reduces stress.

Interoception refers to the process by which the nervous system senses, interprets, and integrates signals originating from within the body, providing a moment-by-moment mapping of the body’s internal landscape across conscious and unconscious levels. Interoceptive signalling has been considered a component process of reflexes, urges, feelings, drives, adaptive responses, and cognitive and emotional experiences, highlighting its contributions to the maintenance of homeostatic functioning, body regulation, and survival.

Dysfunction of interoception is increasingly recognised as an important component of different mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders, and somatic symptom disorders however using breath pacers can help as can coaching using biofeedback tools, which I use in my coaching sessions and workshops.

Slow, deep and balanced nasal breathing at a rate of around 6 breaths per minute has multiple benefits including improved mood and feelings of calm alertness; optimal physical and cognitive function (coherence); optimised energy supply; improved CO2 homeostasis; benefits to cardiorespiratory health; increased vagal tone.

Art has the power to absorb the mind and reduce anxiety. Abstract art bypasses the conscious "meaning making" mind. Geometries like mandalas have been shown in clinical studies to reduce stress; lower blood pressure; reduce depression; ease pain; improve sleep and boost the immune system.

We have the ability to choose our emotions. Choosing to enjoy beautiful art and music generates positive emotional states. Positive emotions benefit physical and mental health; cognition; build resilience; help us to develop new relationships and strengthen existing relationships.
